The air was filled with the irresistible aroma of seafood and BBQ at the Elks Lodge Pavilion on Route 20 in Charlottesville. On September 20, 2025, marked another gathering for the Clarence A. Jones Scholarship Fund at its Annual Crab, Fish Fry & Much More event.
This beloved community event was held in coordination with the Brothers of the Xi Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi, Inc. in Charlottesville, VA, whose dedicated support ensured a successful day of fellowship and fundraising.
A Day of Delicious Dedication and Heartfelt Words
From 12 noon until 5 pm, the pavilion was buzzing with community spirit. Attendees enjoyed a feast of fresh crab, perfectly fried fish, savory burgers, and all the fixings, celebrating togetherness and supporting a noble cause.

This year's event was especially meaningful as it featured a moving moment where the wife of Coach Jones and his daughter took the stage to give a short, heartfelt speech. Their words highlighted the personal legacy of Clarence A. Jones and reinforced the deep commitment to education that the fund embodies. Every shared laugh and every story told contributed to a profound purpose: funding academic scholarships for local high school students.

More Than a Meal: A Legacy of Support
The true magic of the Annual Crab and Fish Fry lies in its impact on young lives. The funds raised are carefully directed toward helping students in Charlottesville, surrounding counties, and Waynesboro, Virginia, pursue their college dreams.
The scholarship program has a rich history of giving, built upon decades of dedication. Since its formation, the current foundation has awarded scholarships to numerous students. And before the foundation was officially established, the sponsoring Xi Iota Chapter had already distributed significant support to deserving students. This incredible track record speaks volumes about the unwavering belief that education is the key to a better tomorrow.
